Shaw Brothers, Inc. is the premier builder in this area. We serve northwest North
Carolina and southwestern Virginia. We build houses and small commercial buildings
in Elkin, Roaring Gap, Sparta and surrounding areas.

Our company dates to the early 1950’s when our father, James W. Shaw Sr. started
Shaw Construction Company. That family business is now owned and operated by his
sons, Jay and Brian. Shaw Brothers is headquartered in Glade Valley and both Jay and
Brian live with their families in Sparta. We are proud supporters of our community
and we have long-term employees that are proud of their craft.

Shaw Construction became Shaw Brothers in 1987 when Jay and Brian purchased the
business from their father. They have continued the tradition of craftsmanship and
care that go into quality construction.

Specializing in custom home building and unique renovations, Shaw has earned a solid
reputation over the past 50 years by producing a superior product. The detail and
the quality within our builds are second to none.

Shaw Brothers is a Contractor, licensed in both North Carolina and Virginia. We have
an Unlimited Classification License in North Carolina (License # 24912) and a Class
A Contractors License in Virginia (License # 2705 066663A).

We have a plumbing and heating license as well as an electrical license.

Shaw Brothers, Inc. is proud to be a Nationwide Homes Builder. We manage all of
our projects personally, doing our own carpentry, wiring, plumbing, heating and air
installations. We manage any sub-contractors used on a job and we only use insured
sub-contractors.

We are proud to have built some of the finest homes anywhere. We specialize in homes
ranging from 2000 to 7000 square feet. We also specialize in restorative renovations to
old homes. We do everything from small repairs to major builds of
architecturally significant homes.
